I remember the place vividly as I was a member from 77 to 89. Great place, no longer in existence, was sold by the owner to property developers a few years back.

Yep - I was a member too from 77 to 83 - was it a tenner for the year? Had some great times in that place.

I used to have a flat around the corner in Guernsey Grove in the early 80s. Strangely enough I think I only ever went in once or twice. Wasn't really my cup of tea. I can remember quite a few fights outside though.

Indeed they were Atila and living just around the corner from all that is why I never found the place quite so appealing as others who came from far and wide to get in there. It was basically an old fashioned pulling joint for the Friday and Saturday niters.

every Wednesday night in '97-'98 - (i think). I was around 16/17 - yes underage but wasn't everyone! Loved it there! Would round the night off with a doner and chips from Yilmaz on Lordship Lane.

Yes I do remember these classy watering holes along with the Henry Cooper and the Prince of Wales. Classic.

Yes - Frog and Nightgown and the Dun Cow were regular haunts for me. Don't remember any fights at Bon Bonne when I was going there, it was usually pretty tame.

I remember one or 2 fights in about 2 years of going there between 92-94. Never any trouble.
