Electrical job needed - halogen uplighter in need of repair

Hello,

I am hoping you can help me. Many years ago I bought a halogen uplighter in France (I'm French!). It worked fine for over 3 years, and when I moved to the UK, it worked fine for another year (of course I was using an adapter to be able to plug it in).

Recently, it stopped working, and the little light in the foot dimmer switch was gone, so I thought perhaps I could fix it. I open the dimmer and changed the little glass fuse inside. It worked! But sadly, only for a couple of days. I tried to replace the glass fuse again with another of the same rating, to no avail.

So, unless the dimmer switch can be fixed I'd like it to be replaced (I am attaching a picture of the dimmer switch if this helps).

I would also like the French plug to be changed to a 3 pin UK plug.

I'd be grateful if I could have an estimate of the cost.
