Pugwash
I live in ED Ward and have spoken and emailed James Barber frequently. When ED ward received money for personal alarms, there was plenty of publicity about it. People as been said before, do not understand that ward names such as ED, Village and College give an indication of the part of ED covered. Also the police from Lordship Lane (before they were forced to move to Camberwell) frequently turned up to local events i.e. Summer fetes, etc and had a stall giving out personal alarms, and general information. pipsky2008
I think James Barber is a very good councillor, he makes himself available on this forum and is responsive to questioners. He is an excellent councillor and works really hard, and has always responded really quickly and effectively to issues I have raised with him. James Barber
Hi Speedbird,Welcome to East Dulwich ward however you intend to vote.I'm sorry my original post about personal alarms wasn't clear enough about being limited to ED ward residents. I can't spend public money on who I want as it has to be fully accounted for. So these personal alarms and their distribution is via local Police who have to confirm the recipient is an ED ward resident. I have in the past also applied for Crime Prevention funds to be created to provide such kit in all neighbouring wards - sadly other councillors didn't think this a priority for them despite the support of their police officers..
