Mick Mac
A new thread where people say where they were in ED tonight, what bars etc. And rate their experience. I'll start: Tonight I was out with a mate and in: The Gowlett from 8.30 - 10.30 then EDT briefly and from 11pm-1am in Franklins. Gowlett 8/10 - great bar. Had some pizza and real ale. Only spoiled temporarily by the music. The seem to have a do it yourself dj option and some of the 80s revival music chosen was not great.Franklins. 7/10 hard to rate as late in evening but barman served up until 12 and did a large measure of macallen. Tops. Were we in the presence of any other forumites? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7531-my-night-out-in-east-dulwich/ Share on other sites

????
You see Tony, not everything in SE15's gone down hill since the old days - I suspect back in your day the only thing you could get on the 7th floor of the multi-storey was dose off Beryl from the Bun House or a shoeing off the F-Troop.edited for off/of..easy mistake Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7531-my-night-out-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-238055 Share on other sites

ratty
Err I went to Green and Blue for coffee and cake on Saturday late morning! It was nice! I don't go out in the evening because I am not old enough. Miss Tipsy Topple
I went to the Rosendale for the first time on Saturday night for a few drinks and dinner and absolutely loved it. I had the steak and chips which I would score 9/10, best chips I've had in a long time. The service was great, really friendly staff and the atmosphere very relaxed for a Saturday night.I'll definitely be going back there again. bigbadwolf
I'm sorry guys, but I'm going to have to go against the grain here.I know you lot all rave about it but I've never really been a great fan of the Crystal Palace Tavern.Sorry, but there it is. Keef
Lots of people aren't BBW, so you're not alone. For me it.s something of a family tradition, and maybe I'm boring, but I can't stand going out on Lordship Lane. bigbadwolf
Oh I appreciate that there's a lot of history behind the place Keef and I remember my dad taking me down there once or twice but since I've grown up and can afford to get legless on my own steam it's just never really appealed to me.I like to think of myself as an honest realist when confessing my local. It is and probably always will be the Capitol in Forest hill, even though it is a bit pikey. daizie
I agree Keef . Too many many try hards on LL. I spent a new years eve in the cpt a couple of years ago only because it was the only place that didnt need tickets to get in and it was brilliant, lively, comfortable and welcoming . Capitol can be a bit scuzzy but at least it has an unpretentious atmosphere . HonaloochieB
I like the Capitol too, and the Hob round the corner and often have a wander up there of a Saturday. The charity shop on the corner is good un, but be warned they don't accept video tapes any more.So take your old series of Friends elsewhere, please. Jah Lush
The Capitol!!!! Let's face it it's not a pub is it? Jeez what a shithole. I walked in there once and didn't even make it as far as the bar (which is miles away) before I did an about turn and walked out never to return. It's cavernous and has a crappy atmosphere or no atmosphere. Bloody awful. A perfectly good former cinema ruined. Give me a proper pub like the CPT any day. Brendan
Another good thing about the CPT is that you?re almost guaranteed to see Jah in there on a Saturday afternoon.
