siousxiesue
Dog's Trust Freedom Project is aimed at placing dogs with foster carers whilst the family escape domestic violence, and I'm happy to share with you my experiences if anyone would like to help with this worthwhile cause. Everything the dog needs is supplied, all I provide is love and exercise! It's such a pleasure knowing I'm helping a family which has made that difficult decision to break away, as pets are commonly used as emotional blackmail to keep someone in a violent home. numbers
siousxiesue - I just want to say you are truly lovely, glad that there are kind people like you out there helping such families and their pets. Escaping a violent home and emotional blackmail is traumatic and its so thoughtful to help them out by looking after their pets which are part of their family too, it is something that doesn't get talked about much. x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/75149-dogs-trust-freedom-project/#findComment-902476 Share on other sites

siousxiesue
So, here is the hard part! Pooch was today reunited with her family, all were ecstatic understandably. I am so pleased she's happy while at the same time sad for myself as I miss her dreadfully already! siousxiesue
Just managed to convince someone who was interested in dog fostering to try Dog's Trust! Also, if you happen to be walking your beloved pooch and a strange woman looks like she's itching to have a stroke-that'll be me missing my canine cuddles!
