There used to be yellow grit / salt bins dotted about so that the public could spread salt on patches of ice like this themselves. Is there not one nearby on Avon Dale? I feel like the council could quite easily list where all their grit bins are at times like this to help residents help themselves.

It's also worth noting there are more people leaving the UK now than arriving. We'll soon have a surplus of housing so no need to build many more. Suspect if this story is anything to go by the mansion tax may not end up being levied here after all. The dairy merchants Hook & Sons at Herne Hill market on Sundays sell raw milk in glass bottle (you leave a deposit for the bottle, they pay it back when you return it). They are also open every day at Borough Market. They also sell a bunch of other nice dairy products
