aggie
The drum beats are back. Can be heard all around the area. Who is doing it? Please shut your window or wear headphones. Peckhamrye
I thought they were great, really enjoyed them. Only lasted barely an hour, no great problem surely? fizzmoll
I saw a bunch of people drumming as I cycled past Peckham Rye park around 3PM today. Is that what you are referring to? Looked like an organised group of drummers doing a bit of a concert. Sounded pretty professional, as far as I could tell. I thought it was really nice - sorry to hear that some people found it a nuisance! Beej
I enjoyed it too, was tapping my feet along with it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/73656-drum-beats/#findComment-897572 Share on other sites
Marmattee
I heard them too! They are a group of lovely young people who have formed the South London Samba Band. They play at our party each year and always go down very well. It is so wonderful to see these young people doing such inspiring and creative things in the face of so much negativity towards this age group. Let's keep encouraging and supporting them! Azira
How would the drummer wearing headphones dull the sound for you, Aggie? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/73656-drum-beats/#findComment-897645 Share on other sites
Help-Ma-Boab
Don't think aggie is talking about the drummers on the Rye...more somebody listening to drum beats in their flat, music pumped up, loudly. Could be wrong but that's my reading. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/73656-drum-beats/#findComment-897840 Share on other sites
aggie
Help-Ma-Boab is quite right in his assumption and headphones would have done the trick. It's a regular occurrence and Sunday seems the favourite day. Annoying when you have a night shift ahead of you and you're trying to get some sleep. Peckhamrye
In that case Aggie you have my every sympathy and agreement and I apologise for the misunderstanding. Nigello
Perhaps they could move further into the centre of the Rye or practise way over the back part of it, near to the girls' school. That way, the sound would have further to travel. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/73656-drum-beats/#findComment-897899 Share on other sites
hc
Azira, I thought that was quite witty!!but yes of course I know what you meant Aggie. And yes you do have my sympathy if indeed it's somebody being very inconsiderate. Otta
So is this person listening to recorded drums or practicing on a drum kit? If it's a kit they should at least be using pads to dull the sound.
