Back of Kebab and Stab, oops I mean Kebab and Wine, if you want to see another side of East Dulwich.

Goose Green end of Lordship Lane, on same side as Black Cherry.

I think they stay open all night.

They have a full kebab-type menu and also serve alcohol.

But will be noisy and busy.

You have to persuade the bouncer to let you in though :)

I've always felt it was reasonable value, at least for the shish - comes with loads of chips, or rice if you want, and quick and friendly service.

Maybe not as good as Hizar but they don't stay open all hours of the night, and the meat I've had in Kebab and Wine has always been tender.

Downside of it for me is the noise from loud music and people, not very relaxing after a stressful night running a Goose gig and clearing up afterwards, as you can't hear yourself speak, but nowhere else to go in the early hours! And really, what else can you expect on a Friday night?

:)

Edited to say: A nice late-night wine bar with soothing classical music would be nice ......

    • They have considerably upped their prices since the refurb, in the larger shop at least  (though to reflect generally better quality clothes etc being sold, to be fair) so they can probably afford it. It's "vintage" now, not "charity shop." 🤣 Annoying for people like me who have always frequented charity shops and found bargains, and now there are loads of people shopping there, and very few real bargains! I'm assuming it's the same trend for the children's shop as for adult charity shops.
    • Long shot I know but my partner has lost his i-phone, probably somewhere in ED area? Thanks, all.
    • Saw someone being clippered today, so maybe its both
    • I've also been wondering about this. I haven't seen anyone carrying out the 'essential repairs'. It seems a shame (and a waste of money) to create this nice feature and then let it fall into disrepair. I used to enjoy standing on it and looking at the ducks and so did many other people, including children. Walking around the lake isn't the same at all.
