etta166 Posted September 1, 2015 Share Posted September 1, 2015 The main point is to cut through the straps if you think it is now unsafe. That would stop anyone salvaging it and trying to use it again. I think that is why you are advised to break it up. devsdev Posted September 2, 2015 Share Posted September 2, 2015 I'm confused about this too - while I've read that car seats have a "life cycle" I've also read the opposite - that the plastic doesn't actually break down. Have a car seat that I would only give away but wonder if it's better to bin. Seems a shame!
