duh, of course I get why rimworld is funny, but I'm not about to give an explicit explanation to prove it. I found african prices funny for other reasons - seems pretty outrageous as a name for a shop, no?

A couple of years ago an African bar/restaurant opened on Peckham High Road called "The Golden Stool", although not for long as the name was soon changed.

The name was actually a translation of the Asante Sika 'dwa, the sacred Royal Throne of the legendary King Osei Tutu of the Gold Coast Empire of Ashanti.

It wasn't a pill, it was a toffee.

Came in boxes at vast expense.

Very very sweet. Supposed to chew one before a meal and it stopped you wanting to eat.

Early seventies. Ish.

If there's anyone local who used to teach Irish at primary school (preferably Connemara Irish) and who'd like to tutor 3 boys aged 7-10 for an hour or two a week please do let me know. Thanks, Sarah
