Misty/streaky double glazing units - any alternatives to replacing them?

Have got a couple of misty/streaky double glazing panels, obviously the whole panels could be replaced, but have recently seen a couple of ads' for companies that claim they can be repaired - this sort of thing.

Has anyone given this solution a try?

Unfortunately the windows aren't that old, but the place in Brockley that we got them from is long gone.

Won't work. One way to do it is to take out one of the panes and live with single glazed unit - would look odd though...

All units are bespoke so you just need to find someone to measure, make and fit.

We found http://www.sdglazing.co.uk/ in Sydenham pretty good (~?150 to replace approx. 1.5m by 1m unit in 2012), and cheaper than any in ED. And they have all the usual trade body memberships.

    • Hi does anyone have a Hotwheels track (ideally which packs away neatly like the fuel can or transporter one) they've been itching to get rid of please? Needed urgently for an emergency birthday present!    Thanks!
    • Glad to hear that the cops are taking crash for cash seriously.  The situation I am aware of the driver called the police, reported it separately as dangerous motorcycling, avoided all calls from 'ambulance chasers' and subsequently got a letter from the police saying it was an unregistered rider/uninsured rider.  It was reluctantly reported to their insurers who actually did not put up the premium which was a nice surprise. So as stressful as it may be just hold firm, deny everything, take down details and report to the police.
