Hello :-)

Just a reminder that our next meeting is on Monday 14th November at 8pm.

The theme is 'Bakes Inspired by Holidays'. That is to say trips at home or abroad, not holidays as in Xmas!

Newcomers please message me for the address.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Holly xx

Hello. I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread. I have just noticed your baking group and wondered whether any of you might be interested in entering the Mince Pie Bake Off which I am organising to raise money for Peckham Foodbank as part of the East Dulwich Christmas Cracker this year?

We still have a handful of places left in both the Traditional and Alternative Mince Pie categories. We would love some more local home bakers like you to get involved and every penny raised from the bake off is going directly to Peckham Foodbank (with everyone involved giving their time for free).

I will definitely be there tonight. I am in "team savoury". Looking forward to it. Janet x

My plan is to make sausage rolls with chestnuts, sage and cranberry. That is the plan - what happens in the kitchen is another story :) I want to make them late so that they will be slightly warm when I get there.

I feel such a fool but I am unable to locate the address for tonight. I was sure I had an email but I cannot find it. I have sent Claudia an email using her hotmail but if she does not respond, would anyone be able to PM me or even send me an email [email protected]

    • Malumbu, you were saying to posters on here "well where else will the money come from" and this highlights one of the major challenges for Labour. Take the very issue being discussed on health related benefit claims. When you look at the data on what has been happening it really shows what a problem it has become but, of course, a Labour government can't possibly attack that area in the same way they go after others - it's easy for Labour to attack the perceptual cruise-going pensioners, toffs at private school and (with less effectiveness) rich land owning farmers. Liz Kendall was on Laura K on Sunday and you could tell talking about the issue (which the government clearly have to deal with) was really difficult because what they are going to have to do is very un-Labour because the situation is out of control and they have to get on top of it.
    • and were people like you worried about "cutting hiring, prices going up and new business not starting" under the last govt or as a result of brexit I don't have labour blinkers - I didn't even vote labour at the election.  But do take a look at the data for that petition - and see how many actually come from UK
    • Take your labour blinkers off sir, Businesses are cutting hiring, prices will go up and new businesses won't start all as a result in the NI hike for employers  Talking down the country pre budget also knocked consumer confidence  Tomorrow labour are goung to announce getting young people into education or employment, yet with the above where will those jobs come from ?  The three people who sent the pertition to me are all small business owners who are taking the brunt of the changes introduced in the budget, one is even talking about closing as it impacts margins so heavily.  This is why people are unhappy. Labour hog tied themselves by promising no tax rises on working people and now the economy is suffering.  Take the red pill sir, not the blue one.
