Offered: Scanning old Photos

Hi,

As the post says - I offer scanning of those precious photos which have been lying neglected in an album or worse, in the attic! This is the best chance for you to preserve them before it is damaged/forgotten for ever.

I do not do restoration/editing i.e. the scan would be a replica of what you see in the original picture but I will scan, make it slightly clearer, crop and digitise it and send it back to you either via Dropbox or on a memory stick. I have experience of doing the same with 500+ photos. I scan them at 720dpi & at 24 bit depth, which makes photos amazingly clear and good enough for a second round of printing and framing it or for sharing with the younger generation.

Rates

----------------------

> The minimum charge is ?30 which includes scanning of 10 photos and free postage or hand delivery of photos back to you. The initial rate is high because the ground work is tedious for each job

> For photos more than 10 but less than 50, it is ?0.75/photo. For e.g. 50 photos, it would be a total of ?60 (?30 + 40X?0.75)

> For photos more than 50 but less than 100, it is ?0.60/photo

For larger orders, contact me directly for the cost.

Notes on privacy: I understand that you would be opening up a very personal collection of your favourite memories to a total stranger; as a person concerned about privacy myself, I can guarantee that they would only be seen by me for the purpose of scanning and once the files are transferred over to the customer, I shall be permanently deleting the copy I created.

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
    • Sadly they don't do the full range of post office services
