nunhead_man
Anyone else in the traffic jam this avo (2:30pm ish) when a bendy bus could not get around the Goose Green Roundabout coming from Grove Vale and exiting into Lordship Lane and hit the brickwork on the centre island?Presume it was the road works that reduced his room for manoeuvre Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7085-memo-to-london-buses-ed-ra-and-bendy-buses/ Share on other sites
KalamityKel
Tis not just bendy buses that have had issues getting through in recent times. Many large, long lorries like the sainsbury's ones have had to nudge very slowly through. Muley
I know. I was on one recently and there was a young woman scratching her arse and twittering at the same time. Couldn't believe it! absentminded
I saw an articulated lorry having trouble getting round there a couple of days ago. It ended up driving up onto the wall to get round the roundabout. Then it reversed back while protesting that it didn't ask to be born. I had no idea it was a teenage lorry. Nero
I used to like them - I thought them efficient, modern and clean, but I like them less and less. The suspension is poor and the ventilation worse, which compounds the problem of the strong smell of fuel that is especially strong near the middle of the vehicle. Roll on the Routemaster replacement. Jeremy
I think they're good buses, with lots of standing space inside. Quick/easy to get on and off too. But they're just not suited to London's roads with tight junctions, narrow roads, roundabouts, etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7085-memo-to-london-buses-ed-ra-and-bendy-buses/#findComment-227117 Share on other sites
PeckhamRose
So was it a bus or was it an inarticulated lorry that caused the damage? Who does the council send the bill to to mend the roundabout. Such a shame, I like the roundabout and I like the planting on it.
