SCSB79
caught a glimpse of what seemed like a new curry house opening tonight... green front with loads of balloons etc outside... but then I thought it might be the coriander, with a new front???? chrisz
Nope they've gone. It's a shame, I liked the coriander. Not sure how this new place will fare. Its slightly off the curry cluster on LL. lilly123
i think all the curry house in ed have changed hands, used all of the curry houses in ed now for over 23 years, it seem that they are all deteriorating, i find it hard to get a good curry now in ed. lilly123
have had curry from 2 sisters, many of times they was very nice and enjoyable until they changed hands a year or so back, i only live about 10 minute walk from them, when our curry was delivered it was stone cold,as i know they did not and do not delivery on foot, we rang them to say it was cold and then they came with a completly different meal none of it was what we ordered in the first place, rang them again after checking the order while the delivery guy was here to be told that they was under pressure because of a speacial celebration they were having, well sorry not the customers fault, never got any refund (45 quid)and the meal went straight in the bin as it was curry we never liked would never use them again. chrisz
Yeah, it is hard to get a good curry on LL. Tandoori Nights is great, but last time I checked it was nearly 5 quid for a side portion of Tarka Dahl, that's without bread, rice or anything else, I mean come on! hoser
Unfortunately the new place probably won't fare too well - it looked generally empty at 7 pm last night. I'd feel sorry for them but they've just ignored the basic rule of supply and demand. Nero
I liked the Coriander, especially the v cold beers and the service. We went on Friday night, lured in my the '4 customers get a bottle of wine, 2 a bottle of beer'. However, we were told that there were 'terms and conditions', namely that you have to book to receive the free drink! Hmm, we said, and asked whether that it was likely that in a usually empty restaurant that proviso was fair, and suggested they comp us the drink anyway. They didn't. Mildly irritating to be on the end of such ludicrous sharp practice but the food and service was good. The beers weren't of that holiday-iciness that they should have been. lilly123
oh well, i guess i will now have to keep on making my own, at least i am relaible and i know the taste will be what we like, it takes me 2 days to make the main sauce of the currys and dishes, 10 minutes to do pilau rice excellent, but i dont mind as i like the overcomming aroma in my house that last for a few days or more, i enjoy the task of peeling fresh ingredients and making this curry gravy as they say from scratch, thank god for currys love them and enjoy making them.
