lurkey-14
I'm not sure if other members have experienced the same situation, but on a few occasions we have offered a few of our baby items. This is a conditional offer that the items go to a good home and are not sold on. As it turns out, on a few of the occasions, someone pretending to take the items for their "twins" were actually a front for some type of racket. Now, I don't have proof of this but it's pretty obvious.....Losing faith in humanity........ binkylilyput
Yeah, there must be baby walkers being abused all over the place, not to mention the morally incomprehensible trafficking of teddies and bath time duckies. This entrepreneurial "racket" should be reported.Maybe do a full background check next time? stringvest
Should have sought out a charity like the National Childbirth Trust, they have "jumbles" and meetings for expectant parents, who then know about the sales ... or just go to a charity shop, or seek out the local women and child (pc?) refuge via social services ... always grateful. Alan Medic
binky, your name suggests you are small and your comments are certainly smallminded. I sometimes give things away on the forum and hopefully to a good home. Sometimes these are really appreciated and for different reasons. All I would say to lurkey is that most humans are good and if you are giving something away via the forum just look at the posts of the person who wants whatever it is. If they are a serial seller of goods then that's probably why they want whatever it is. binkylilyput
If you give an item away, it is hardly reasonable to dictate what happens to it once in someone else's possession.Unless you give away a puppy or a goldfish.Maybe those sneaky sellers were making money to provide for their family.Anyway, commenting on my height seems a bit sizest Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/68853-advertising-items-for-free/#findComment-881683 Share on other sites

Jeremy
I've also given stuff away before, only to find the recipient is not what they claim to be.If they want to sell the item on then fine, but don't lie and claim that my old TV is for your elderly mum.
