Several people have been asking through the Forum for a local rally against the rail cuts. The next event will be a mass leafleting at Peckham Rye station MONDAY 13th JULY between 7.30am and 8.30am. The media will be invited so we need to make a really good show.

If you want to come and take part please email [email protected] and say what time you could get there and how long you could stay. Any help will be great, even if just for 20 minutes or so on your way to work.

This is a follow up to the very successful launch of the campaign against the rail cuts on Friday 26 June. It got onto the front page of the South London Press Tuesday 30 June and a double page inside, - still time today to go and buy a copy! The story also made it onto the Sunday ITV Politics show which acknowledged there was a black hole in transport in inner south London. For a local report see:

The mass leafleting on 13 July will take place at all the stations along the South London Line as well as Peckham Rye, i.e: South Bermondsey, Queens Road, Denmark Hill, Clapham High Street, Wandsworth Road. If you use one of them but not Peckham Rye, please e-mail [email protected] so I can connect you with that activity.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for the campaign ? for supporters to get together and / or to get publicity - please say.

The campaign is organised by representatives from local rail and transport user groups including SRUG, the hospitals at Denmark Hill, local elected representatives, and the 4 main political parties, and supported by a wide range of others including community groups, businesses, and large employers.

    • Unfortunately someone stole two boxes from our front porch today on Limesford Rd, opposite Nunhead cemetery. Across two visits, spanning about 5 minutes, he took two parcels that were left on our doorstep before heading off on his bike. I saw it happen via our doorbell camera but missed him by a couple of minutes. Neither contained anything that valuable, but it was incredibly brazen.  Hoping someone recognises him - or can advise on the best way to file this with the Met?
    • Phoned Fernando Pinto last week, to call and give the grass in my garden the first cut of the year. Fernando arrived on time did a great job and left everything clean and tidy, also a great conversationalist. Many thanks Fernando, who can be contacted on 07946 757938
