antijen
bbw Just wondering if you were the only one needing a sorting by the police in this incident. you may well have felt this was duly deserved, traveller kid, how old?? bigbadwolf
It was a while back jen but I'd say that the little pikey kid was about 10ish. Erskine O'Mally and the rest of his brood were of various ages from the toothless to the spineless. The whole thing was over very quickly and we were all dealt with quiclkly but I'd had so much coke I wasn't thinking straight. If you need a comparison of our collective behaviour, travellers and taxpayers alike then tune into an episode of street wars on sky three. antijen
Think its bang out of order using cs gas when kids about but common with travellers kids. No doubt they used the public order act as they have in there justification of kettling. vinceayre
Its a bit like going to a football match in the 80s, you had a fair idea of what could happen and you cant claim not to have know the police were going to use hard tactics then. The same apply s now but rather than going to a footie match for a punch up you go to a anti whatever it is this week demonstration. Everybody knew there would be trouble and lo and behold;d there was. Townleygreen
Kettling, as used on the g20 demo, is inappropriate and counter-productive. It also discriminates against women as men can pee in the street easily, and women can't. It turned me against the police, having previously been - generally - a supporter of them. Which is why it is counterproductive. Until the kettling happened, there had been no trouble. What is the point of kettling middle aged peaceful people and OAPs? Have the police no intelligence or common sense.Bunch of prats. For those who want to drill down into the detail, para.51 of the preceding Court of Appeal judgement http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2007/989.html sets out the key findings of fact in the lower court (QBD) that the Commissioner of Police was relying on: the references in square brackets are to the paragraphs of the QBD judgement http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/QB/2005/480.html.It'll be interesting to compare and contrast the claimed circumstances of Austin and G20.
