As I understand, in academic and literary contexts, it is appropriate to use capital letters for "significant words" in a title, with significant usually referring to pretty much everything but prepositions and articles.


Probably a level or 2 of geekdom above what you were looking for...

This is far from the strangest thing they do. Bugbears of mine include numbers (when spoken): 2009 becomes two thousand nine. And headlines, eg: Senate attacks spending, waste. Is an and too much to ask for?


I've just written a piece for an American newspaper and the changes they've made are bizarre. Still, they're paying so I won't complain.
