Recommended Posts

Waves Mindfulness will be running two 4 week courses starting August at All Saints Church, Lovelace Rd.

Adults Course

Starts 5th August 7-9pm and then every Wednesday thereafter.

Come and discover what mindful meditation is and learn to manage stress and anxiety. Find peace of mind and a new found joy in every day life.

Mindfulness is a secular practice that uses mediation and cognitive therapy to help us 'be in the moment' this way we can relieve ourselves of many mental blocks. The groups are small and friendly, we discuss our habitual responses and notice the difference of how we react when being mindful.

?20 per session or ?70 for all four sessions

Childrens Course

Course Starts 4th August 10-11:30am and then every Tuesday thereafter.(5-11 yr olds)

Introduce your little ones to the practice of mindfulness - through fun games and experiments we learn more about our emotions and why we react the way we do when we are angry, excited, sad or nervous. Learn how to balance your emotions and reduce feelings of worry and anxiety.Learn what calm feels like and how you can use meditation to bring you some chill time.

?10 per session or ?35 for all 4 sessions.

All mindfulness coaches at Waves are CRB checked and have taken teacher training with Mindfulness approved bodies in the UK.

    • The amount of fireworks noise over a wide area last night couldn’t have just been teenagers messing around. I’m presuming that St. Andrew’s Day (or the eve of) has now been added the ever lengthening list of dates that some people feel need to be marked with ordnance. It doesn’t really matter whether the police or council is responsible for enforcement; if the launch site or the person lighting the touch-paper can’t be identified, how are they supposed to do anything? The only solution is to end the sale of fireworks to the public, which the Fire Brigades Union has lobbied for for decades. All governments since the ‘70s have resisted this. Otherwise, pressure local councils to withhold licenses to retailers. More regulation not less, which goes against the mantra of both Labour and Tories. I personally don’t give business to some local newsagents, who now spend a quarter of the year promoting the sale of fireworks.
    • Hi, Is the worktop timber?  I may have one, I need to check sizes later today.  Would a spade bit do or do you specifically want a hole saw?
    • But isn’t that massive construction effort the prerequisite to solve the housing problems?  or is there another way?
