Alan Medic
Interesting fact that when Sam managed Blackpool in the play-offs having finished 3rd, they won their away leg 2-0 only to be beaten 3-0 at home. He was then sacked. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6748-life-outside-the-premiership/page/19/#findComment-542567 Share on other sites

kpc
Looking pretty safe for you - congratulations and hope to join you at Wembley.Decent allocation for final - are you not part of any of the various membership schemes. Or you could try the "spare a ticket for a veteran of '75" line. ????
Last Season ticket was 2006 (first kid arrived 2005 :)) and never bothered with membership etc as I often get a 'lent' ST. I'm normally ok for this but got a feeling the first trip to Wembley since 81 plus my mates kids all getting old enough etc will count against me - not sure I'll throw money at it either.Think you'll over turn Blackpool Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6748-life-outside-the-premiership/page/19/#findComment-543043 Share on other sites
kpc
Maybe it could be arranged for one of them to 'fall ill'. Nothing serious, like. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6748-life-outside-the-premiership/page/19/#findComment-543044 Share on other sites
maxxi
Bring on the Blues/Tangerines... careful not to pick up any injuries before Wembley though - I think the final will be attrition over attraction. El Pibe
Poor Hamlet, fall at the final hurdle again.Fingers crossed for Stevenage this week, well done for getting into the play offs especially having lost our manager to a rival, hope he's gutted from Ilford!! It will have been a fluid rise of meteoric proportions if we gain promotion. And well done the Hammers, cruised to the play off finals. red devil
Why was the play-off final played at Bognor's ground? Was it agreed pre-season that would be the venue for the play-off, or was it on the toss of a coin?..seemed a bit unfair that one team had home advantage for such an important match. Alan Medic
It was the fact they finished above DH in the league. Same reason DH were at home in the semi's. 'bout now
I went on Monday, very impressive job done and we have the team that we wanted, Blackpool. In typical downbeat Hammer tradition it just presents an even bigger banana skin for us. That's what I'm telling myself anyway!Anyone going? maxxi
Having hammered the 'Pool twice in the league complacency is our biggest worry - just hope SA can get players on their game**(and then - when we get promoted - retire gracefully with much thanks and a nice clock so we can get in a manager with some verve). Have consoled myself with a large glass of rum. Been one hell of a season all in all, and probably the most enjoyable one for many Blues fans. Last year's accounts out next week - not pretty but "nowhere near bankruptcy". Hope we can keep Chris Hughton so that he can continue the good work. kpc
Vicious rumour, but given the current circumstances at St Andrews (late accounts and all that) and that he is only on a one year rolling contract, speculation is inevitable. If he leaves, so be it; he will leave with the goodwill and blessings of all (sane) Blues fans for the season he has given us (as opposed to the guy who f*cked off last year). Interesting few weeks ahead. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6748-life-outside-the-premiership/page/19/#findComment-543766 Share on other sites
maxxi
It's a strange ol'game though... if CH leaves, what price the owners(?) doing a Redknapp and bringing McLeish back when he gets sacked? ... or Steve Bruce is still hanging around...
