I used to like Asta restuarant on Middlesex Street (10 mins) from Liverpool Street - always full of Japanese customers. Good value and tasty bento boxes to eat at lunch. More variety and better quality than the Asta takeaway / sandwich shop between Liverpool St and Moorgate.

What can we deduce from this thread as the relentless Google search engine indexer crawls over this site finding the key words best sushi restaurant London and figuring given the hits that EDF gets it?s important and puts it up to the top of search results.

The wisdom of crowds and the good nature of the British when given a challenge to worry out the solution (Bletchley Park anyone ?) meant as soon as SKS threatened to go to the grave his lips sealed then the combo of a knowledgeable community + challenge meant the name would be revealed.

So the name is here - of that I am certain ? now SKS reveal the name and ruin one or keep silent and ruin them all ? the fate of authentic Japanese sushi lies in your hands.

Interesting website, though no mention of things like food, prices or menus :)

Thanks, I'll have the Chinese proverb please (with whose sentiments I fully agree and in fact adhere to :)) )

Let's hope there's not more than one Chinese proverb up as I couldn't be arsed to watch the whole lot .....

Does this mean it's like an open house? What time? Sample food? More info please.

Myself and a mate went in Friday night and walked straight back out again - very noisy. The guy on the door said "its well sound proofed isn't it". True - you open the door and are hit by a wall of sound.

Seemed busy though. Suspect it and Liqourish will share customers, although Liqourish was quieter and we could hear ourselves speak. Adventure Bar may suffer though with a competitor on the same side of the road.

More variety is good though.

A Brazilian bar serving sushi??

Brazil has a long history of catering to their huge Japanese population. Thousands of Japanese emigrants traveled to South America to work coffee plantations in the early 20th century and now they have the largest Japanese population outside of Japan. The integration of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cultures is a big part of Brazilian cuisine today, much like "American-ized" Mexican food and "British-ized" Indian food. There are chains of Brazilian/Japanese restaurants in the US, my favorite being Sushi Samba in New York.

So I'm hoping Boho, if they are a Brazilian place, will take their sushi very, very seriously. Anyone tired it yet? How are the prices?

    • Dulwich Hill SNT will have their quarterly evening meeting in December - I will check the date (it is in the first week)
    • Absolutely! If the "Non-crime hate speech" was to be handled by the PCSO's, that would free up the "real police" to handle serious crime such as muggings, theft, drugs, rape, violence etc ,etc, etc, etc. The "real police" shouldn't was precious time having a cuppa with the concerned law-abiding citizens. They should be out there fighting real crime.
    • Landells Road comes under the Dulwich Hill SNT, At their last meeting at Christ Church, car thefts were one to the statistics discussed. The problem is that everyone assumes that the police are useless, but so much crime goes unreported it sways the statistics and the wrong impression is given that the area has a low crime rate. It is known that certain roads are targeted for different reasons theft from cars, theft of cars, burglary etc Information given gets built up - Police can identify times of day, type pf vehicle etc and I have known them to 'stake out' in unmarked vehicles of an area which had an increase of incidents/criminal activity. There should be a cuppa with a coppa meeting at Christ Church on 25th November at 11 am. Dulwich Hill SNT will post details on EDF. There is also the quarterly evening  meeting in the first week of December . I will post date on here.
    • Some newspapers, such as The Times, organise deliveries throughout most of the UK. They obviously use subcontractors and I would rate their service as 9 out of 10. We used them previously before switching to Budgens on Half Moon Lane.
