char1ie
It's perfectly normal for trendy bars to refuse entry to the wrong type of punter. That's why you have door staff. It's hardly fascist behaviour. And yes Sue, they should only let in young trendy good looking people. sophiesofa
I assumed you had to be young and trendy to want to go in. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6617-new-bar-boho-serving-sushi/page/6/#findComment-236361 Share on other sites
Jeremy
In my experience of such things, the good (dare I say "trendy"?) bars get popular through word of mouth, and by erm... actually being good. Not by being garish and crap, and enforcing a door policy reminiscent of a Watford nightclub circa 1993. SimonM
Has the word "trendy" now come full circle and it is now - uh - trendy again to use it? We only used the word ironically back in the 60's but, hell, what do I know?! The thing about being "exclusive" though is that if you take it too far you end up going bust... It is only ever used in the most un-trendy circumstances. e.g. "trendy choir", "trendy Women's Institute", "trendy crap bar". Brendan
I?ve always used ?trendy? as a pejorative term. Have I been getting it wrong? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6617-new-bar-boho-serving-sushi/page/6/#findComment-236376 Share on other sites

The word trendy when accompanied with fists held at waist level and a waggling of the shoulders indicates the latest up to the minute togs that will certainly lead to you pulling a 'little raver'. Sorry that should be a 'little raver'.Did Mr Lucas toil all those years in Grace Brothers for us to learn nothing about sexy menswear?Sadly these days Young Mr Grace would be unlikely to tell us we'd "All done very well", but rather have c@nted us all off.Young Mr Grace would have been still pulled off from the scene by his nurses, but he'd have taken no joy. None at all.And Captain Peacock would have cared neither jot nor tittle about any of them.Callous old queen. Sue
Hey, Dan Maitland's singing here on Sunday, so I just might have to grit my teeth and risk lowering the tone for the more discerning customers :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6617-new-bar-boho-serving-sushi/page/6/#findComment-237265 Share on other sites
Sue
Went to Boho last night to see Dan sing, and was pleasantly surprised by just about every aspect (the bar, not the singing). And the sandwiches were great - really tasty bread, huge portions, generally yummy. We'll be back :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6617-new-bar-boho-serving-sushi/page/6/#findComment-238189 Share on other sites
