geneverve
As this method worked so well last time, and because if I look at the Southern website one more time my head will explode, can anyone confirm whether you can get a train direct from ED station to Wimbledon station, and how often? Need route for possible job but also am going to the tennis in a couple of weeks. When I searched TFL for a route to Kingston upon Thames it said I could go from ED to Wimbledon then diff train to KuT, but when I searched ED to Wimbledon individually it didn't seem to exist, and the Southern website doesn't mention it either! Ted Max
Direct trains at 15 and 45 mins past the hour. Takes about 30 mins. http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/pj/tt Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6607-getting-to-wimbledon/#findComment-211637 Share on other sites
Izodia
Ah-ha. The mystery of the direct trains. In the morning there's direct trains at around 7.15, 7.45 and 8.15. And there's 3 direct trains back in the evening...the first one leaves Wimbledon around 6.10. If you're going at any other time, just change trains at Tulse Hill. Just make sure you don't get on a train going the long way round the loop to Wimbledon. geneverve
Brilliant! Thanks very much for the responses - good to know I'm not going mad because I was sure they did exist! National Rail link didn't work as had timed out, but searched it myself thanks - I always forget to try National Rail site. cathg
Depends on which end of ED you live, but we always get direct trains from Herne Hill - via 37 bus, bike, walk or be a lazy sod and drive to station, still a few pockets of unrestricted parking nearby.
