Jesus' execution is in the romsn and jewish records and mohammed's family were a well known middle eastern merchants.I think it is pretty well documnted and accepted they both existed as people...you are perhaps getting confused with their claims to divinity?

All known 'external' documentary sources are either proven or suspected Christian interpolations, pious frauds or have been disputed or discounted for other reasons.

Jewish, Christian and Islamic sources are considered self-serving therefore not acceptable as credible evidence.

There is no independent or credible evidence that Prophet Mohammad (saaw) was a historical figure, unless you can demonstrate otherwise.

Widely accepted as matters of faith - that doesn't count as evidence, though.

No, not at all, but let's not go there before first clearing up this point.

well, you are going against historicsl (not religous) orthodoxy so unless your Simon Schama I'm gonna go with them. Prove it? how the hell am I going to and can I be arsed to go and get you evidence at 7.30pm on a tuesday in my holidsy week....go figure as they say...

all Jewish, islamic and christian records are of no historicsl value snd the other sources are pious fakes...do you run an american conspiracy theory website by any chance?

I'm sorry - you were the one that offered up evidence. Opinion is not evidence, I'm sure you know that.

Ok, I've got this ancient document written in Hebrew that says G-d gave me your house, valuables and your ass. You can keep the ass, just PM me when you've vacated the premises and I'll nip over and take possession. Leave the ???? on the table. May the Lord go with you.

How did you guess? Don't tell me - the little voice in your head, wasn't it?

Seriously, there ain't no evidence, is there? Just wishful thinking and blind faith. Have a good holiday.

Muhammad's life is well documented within numerous records in historical texts, although like other premodern historical figures not every detail of his life is known

How fascinating Mick! He seemed the most down-to-earth superb Human Being on God's Earth!

Did you meet him and what was he like M8?

Mick give yourself a treat for 5 Minutes and put the following into "You Tube"

"Rory Gallagher - Bullfrog Blues"....this was why Rory was universally loved. After 2 mins 30 seconds the crowd in France are on the stage head-banging with him and then he carries on, playing on top of the Amps and back amongst the madding crowd again.

Exhilarating stuff and I never saw him. More fool me.

No - I did not meet him TLS - It was my first job, I was too junior and was not allowed to meet clients. Spoke to him on the phone once, he seemed ok. Also he was a local hero in Northern Ireland. Have always meant to get into his music and have watched him on Youtube following one of your previous posts, really talented guy.

Met Joe Strummer a couple of times and he was great, I also had his phone number while he was staying with one of the Conrans and used to call him up on the way home from nights out.

He also once lent my son twenty quid to get home from Brixton when he spent a long evening backstage at the Academy.

    • So much nonsense in a single post! 1) this vaguely xenophobic stuff is based on a belief that London is full of houses owned by foreigners that are kept empty and out of the hands of native buyers and renters. This is unmitigated bullshit. "England has the lowest rate of empty homes in the OECD, and Greater London has about one-tenth the level of Paris, just 0.7% of properties being empty compared to 6.5%...the effect on the general housing crisis is minuscule. London, Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton and other cities have eye-wateringly expensive housing because of high demand and low supply. That’s the obvious and boring answer." https://www.edwest.co.uk/p/the-myth-of-londons-empty-homes 2) where do you get this idea that infill sites have to be small? Southwark and the GLA planning documents explicitly recognise that industrial sites can be infill sites. 3) It is simply factually untrue and misleading that taller buildings are out of character for the area of the development. The neighbouring school has taller blocks, Hambledon Court on the other side of the tracks is a taller building, the Dog Kennel Hill estate on the other side of the station consists of taller buildings. 4) if that is the lesson you have taken away, then is your opposition to this new housing in East Dulwich part of a Lib Dem policy to "deny, baby, deny"? Let's be real for a second: there is no way out of the housing crisis that doesn't involve building lots of new housing. If we can't build on top of a disused builder's yard above a railway station, where are we going to build in this neighbourhood? 5) This is also nonsense. The student accommodation was initially closed because of systemic fire risks that made the buildings unsafe. KCL is now halfway through totally renovating the blocks and expanding capacity. KCL gets twice as many applications for student accommodation as it can fulfil. KCL just opened another 452 student rooms in Battersea - so clearly they don't have a concern about a cataclysmic decline in student numbers. https://www.rlb.com/europe/projects/kcl-champion-hill/ https://roarnews.co.uk/2024/kcl-accommodation-still-empty-four-years-after-evacuation/ https://www.constructionenquirer.com/2025/03/03/watkin-jones-wins-30m-student-digs-campus-upgrade/   It is really disappointing that someone involving themselves in planning matters is relying on (and spreading) prejudices, misconceptions and misinformation like this.
