Campervans

Has anyone hired one for a weekend? We are keen to try one out this summer but it seems really expensive to hire them (?450 for three nights!), so just posting for any experiences really. After having to pack our tent up in the pouring rain recently I'm keen to see what van camping is like!

Not quite campervans but Canopy and Stars is a great site for camping alternatives.

it is expensive especially if you want a cute vintage one,

but...

its cheaper than buying one off ebay and ending up having to do loads of work on it! which is what we did. several years later we sold a now amazing vw camper and bought a modern one though.

and camping with a campervan is so much fun, honestly!

Not bothered by cute/vintage - in fact I probably would prefer a more modern one! Really tempted, but we just invested in a new tent so maybe need to spend time doing our research. I love our tent but it's hard work for a weekend trip!

i think its worth hiring one for the research! you could always wait and go in off peak season - early october its cold but usually still nice.

We had a great Easter week last year taking a camper van to the Eden Project and back via Lyme Regis. We booked though Nick at Bongoagogo
