I hate to ask but where do you put the vaseline ?

I find/found the pleasure of running comes from "I can run for x minutes/miles", easy to quantify improvement and only competing with myself.

I started during a rough study period and it was cheap, got me out of the house/library each day, plus it meant that there was a 30 min period each day where i couldn't look stuff up or read texts, i just enjoyed the scenery, focused on my breathing pattern and pounded.

I'd been running for approximately 6 months and was starting to wonder if there really was any point in it when i had to run for a train at london bridge: flat out sprint from ticket barriers to platform 16, made it just in time, took a single deep breath and sat down completely recovered. couldn't have done that 6 months earlier, would have missed it and then spent at least a quarter of an hour hacking up my burning lungs. felt rather chuffed.

Oh, and I banished the beer belly. sort of.

but this is all past tense, as the price of running on my body is one seriously shagged knee. Haven't been for a run for about 3 months. And as much as this should probably confirm that it was pointless, I really miss it.

I think running is a bad way to exercise if you have a bit of extra lard hanging around if you do it on grass rather than the streets its an improvement but the impact damage you can cause can be quite extensive, my knee is also pretty messed up in the cartilage department so I have to be careful now so it's a toss up between going down the gym or going on the piss. Going on the piss is winning at the moment.

I'd never thought of that. Thank you.

Speak for yourself mate but not all of us have "a bit of extra lard" Have you considered going on a diet or something?

A little unkind, dreads. There are 2 perfectly valid ways of shedding the excess - limit the calories you take in, or up the calories you burn off. Players choice, and there's no wrong choice: I like exercise to keep the spare tire at bay because I like my food.

How DARE you speak to Mikecg in such pious tone dreads! So he's been putting away one too many pies of late but what do you expect the poor man to do, live on Ryvita and sea weed all day long. No, I think the only sensible option left open to Mike is a back alley liposuction and he can donate the 'offal' to WR.

Ive got one of these puppies and they are brilliant (G cup).. For all those larger alphabet ladies it is a great choice! FYI it can be a bit of a two woman job to get it on but once its done up, they wont move an inch!

Boob bouncer limiter

Whilst we're still on a subject I'd also like to make another observation. This may come as a shock to the ladies on the forum but when us lads walk past a woman who is jogging we also take this delightful opportunity to have a quick peek at her bum. Although this can appear cheeky or down right rude by some it is innocently explained away by the fact that we a merely grading the progress of the athletes improving physical shape. Sometimes you'll have a quick peek and be greeted by something which looks to be still 'under construction' whilst other times it may simply be a case of 'ongoig maintenance'. Sometimes however on those beautiful heady days of mid summer you'll be taking a stroll and you'll note a nubile looking young lady jogging towards you and on quick inspection of her bum you'll find yourself in the position whereby you can apply the more flattering term of 'mortgage approved'.
