Minitoots
We are 3 x couples going to Paris in October for 4 nights withut the kids, looking for a mid range priced hotel with character (no chains, nothing bland!! We like quirky/ arty/ contemporary design) ideally in either the Latin quarter or Marais. I've always stayed in budget ones in those areas before but we are splashing out this time- any recommendations, anyone? Mrs TP
Way back when (1997 - eek) and pre kids we stayed in the quirkyily named Hotel Brighton on the Rue de Rivoli opposite the Jardins de Tuileries. Proper French hotel. Rooms at the front with the better view cost more than those looking onto the rear courtyard. Sorry I'm not up on the Quarters but was a fab long lost Parisian weekend :) and well placed for getting about. yeknomyeknom
We always stay at Mama Shelter. Very quirky. Artists live on site. We have specifically travelled to Paris for their spectacular Sunday brunch. Even if you don't stay, you should go for the brunch. Very cool, adult, local and not touristy. catg
http://www.hotelparismaraisbretonnerie.com/hotel-marais/fr/ Have a look at Hotel Bretonnerie which is in the Marais. It's not uber flash but it has huge charm/character and you can go for a more upmarket junior suite if you so desired. Have had several amazing and memorable stays here over the years. Indiana
http://www.hoteljulesetjim.com/en/We stayed at Jules et Jim boutique hotel in the Marais last September when we went to Paris for a friends wedding...blissful 2 nights away with friends and no kids. Its a perfect location in le Marais so you can walk to everything. The hotel has lots of art installations - a great breakfast and immaculate rooms (they are a bit on the small side buts its Paris!). It is very contemporary and has a laid back, chilled vibe. Great bar too.Highly recommended Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/63807-hotel-in-paris-recommendations-wanted/#findComment-865025 Share on other sites

greenwater
Or airbnb is very popular in Paris and you can get some cracking apartments if you have a good budget. Redmeghan
We had a romantic getaway before our first child was born and stayed at Belle Juliette - great area, gorgeous shower room and there's a spa in the basement...
