David Lynch?

I'm quite a big fan of David Lynch,take Blue Velvet for example Dennis Hopper was great in that film, Dune excellent scfi, but ERASERHEAD is unfathomable. Over the years I have watched it whilst being in various states and I have never understood it, I think it is quite possibly the maddest film I have ever seen. Any offers of an explanation would be greatly appreciated.

The late Joe Strummer mentioned the film in a Clash song, 'my name is Eraserhead and I will ruuub you out'.

I think it might have been on that EP. You know the one.

Anyway in '77 it was the film to see, at least if you were me at the time.
