Muttley, you shouldn't pick on Snorky's inability to spell!!

You only need to read older stuff from pepys through swift to Dickens to realise that there's no such thing as truly standardised English, but we've more or less settled on some accepted norms today, as have they.

But txt/email english could yet be the death of that. I know the evolving language argument, but like third nipples under your armpit, maybe somethings just shouldn't evolve in some ways.

Where we? Oh yes Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo dOO doo doo, de doop de dopp de dooooo

The postcards have arrived!:)) And they're actually quite good, OK, they're nothing special but they're something to be treasured. I look forward to giving everyone from the forum a free one on Friday night. For the rest of you, they'll be on sale at the Fair on Sunday, I haven't worked out how much yet but probably something like 20p each (or 5 for a ?1).

Seema - promised but never showed - and no post to explain? Rejoin

Point is - another good evening. Thanks to Mike for arranging and great to see the regs. Oh and the pub kept the beers coming sharpish with smiles all evening so fair play

And I'm sure Andrew will have the visual record of events posted soon

Just raising my ugly head now, after popping into the Bishop on way home!! What a great evening, thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and twasnt anywhere near what I imaged. This will be a definate in my social calendar from now on. :))
Also would like to mention that The Clockhouse looks great and I really liked the fact it was non-smoking, a) because for once I didnt reek like an ashtray b) so much healthier doing it in the fresh air (haha) c) got to meet little splinter groups outside for more in depth chit chat.
Sorry. Had every intention to be there. In fact, spent the evening telling people about what my real plans were and insisting that I couldn't stay long at the impromptu work-drinks session. Next thing I knew it was today and I was in my bed with the all-too-familiar pig mess in my head (Withnail, anyone?) Glad I got home in one piece, sorry to have missed drinks with you guys. When's the next one?

    • As we know Love Dulwich is now a Turkish meze grill restaurant and today they have started their lunch time special. A choice of a cold or hot starter (4 of each to choose from), plus a main meal (4 the choose from including a veggie meal) £15. I had hummus with the softest, warm bread to dip in it (you can ask for more bread) and then chicken shesh, 3 types of salad (onion & sumac, red cabbage & traditional leaf), bulgar - huge portions.   The food was tasty and delicious. Chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavour, salad was fresh and the bulgar was cooked perfectly.  If you didn’t want the lunch special they also had the main menu which was small but with some amazing meal, chicken, veggie & fish options.  We really enjoyed it and will be back to sample the evening menu as well.
    • Nikolay's work was recommended by several forum users in here, and we decided to go with his services after getting his quote: it was well priced, with the cost of each component clearly broken down. We recently purchased a Victorian conversion in Catford which had alot of damaged floorboards (old, but also damaged from badly done DIY repairs) which needed replacing, and a 4 x 4m bedroom which needed all new floorboards installed as previous owners removed all original boards to install cheap chipboard floors covered with padding and carpets. Nikolay and his team removed the chipboards, and built the floor in 2–3 days from reclaimed boards, alongside doing alot of replacements and repairs to a lounge and dining room. When the quote was to go up due to more repairs being needed (we asked for it) Nikolay communicated the changes, and gave us an updated quote quickly so we could update our budget for it. They were very communicative and gave frequent text and photo progress updates when we could not be there which put us at ease. The whole job was efficiently completed in 6 working days including sanding and staining all the floors. The job was completed to a high standard, and the results were incredible. I still have 1 more bedroom which needs restoring, and I have every intention to go back to Nikolay again for his services.
