Went into the Dry Cleaners by The Plough yesterday and asked what the new shop is going to be next to him. He confirmed it was gonna be a Somerfield. When I asked what about the existing Somerfield further up L Lane, he said that it was going to probably turn into a M&S (another lady dropping clothes off in the shop agreed with him).

Does anyone have any info on this?

No, no, no, no, no.

The Lordship Lane end of Goose Green is to be concreted over and turned into an NCP spot for Sainsbury Forest Hill overspill.

FACT.

They will provide a bus service to the store for 2 pounds (1 pound if you spend over 100 quid in store). Sorry, French keyboard so can't find the pound sign.

FACT.

I hope you're not comparing the beautiful East Dulwich to Woolwich...

Well, no I wasn't. But since you mention it, I wouldn't call ED "beautiful" at all, whilst Woolwich has a great waterfront, and some amazing old buildings. Guessing your tongue was in your cheek though.

No it wasn't.

Just walking home via Colyton Road and overheard some people there talking about how THEY had heard that some of the people in the richest of the richer houses were getting together to buy a section of the South end of Peckham Rye Park near the gate opposite the DIY store, and turn it in to a helipad. No, really.

Oh and talking about helicopters, at a Members meeting of Kings COllege Hospital the other day, it was discussed that Kings is now the best hospital for heart and liver problems and that more and more helicopters will be heard flying over taking emergency patients there.

Oh, well in that case, Oh Dear, you seem to be looking at East Dulwich through somewhat rose tinted specs. It's a very nice area, with lots of good things about it, but beautiful it isn't.

    • All the parents looking after their kids instead of skiving from their meaningless desk jobs might mean it's quieter on here. Still, at least it gives free rein to the bad-tempered, long-winded pensioners that begin their posts "having resided in Dulwich for a not inconsiderable number of decades, may I be so bold as to suggest..." 😉

    • We have been patients at Sternhall Lane for years. Our experience has generally been incredibly positive with speedy responses and very helpful staff. We are generally fortunate to get a same day appointment should we really need one either at Sternhall Lane or at Tessa Jowell and any necessary referalls have been swift.
    • @Alice if left might have been stolen/taken by someone (peed on by a dog or fox), also there are some little things attached of - I assume - sentimental value. I hope the owner can claim them. Will leave a note indeed with info how to retrieve them, though not with a private phone number in a public space 😅 Maybe a friend of a friend will come across this post on EDF.  @embob97 They do have a ring, sorry.
