In the 70s 80s my pals and I were aware of Jah Shaka playing at Blues parties around Peckham but we were too scared to go. I wish we had.

I was at a party in Forest Hill in 79 and some chaps arrived in a lorry with Jah Shaka's sound system. The speakers were taller than a wardrobe, they put them up in the hallway and nearly blew the house down.

this is great folks, keep 'em coming. Really keen to hear as many stories as possible as I want to get this stuff up on Peckham Soul blog I'm starting. This is important social history! If anybody wants to email me directly on [email protected], I'd love to hear from you.
