skip
Hi,Anyone have a great way to get to Heathrow (actually not the airport, but very close vicinity) during peak hours, either by car or train/bus? The SATNAV route is taking 2.5 hrs in the mornings; which is far too long! Thanks, Skip. PeckhamRose
Motorcycle. And yes, I took hubbie to Heathrow on back of my bike. Tied suitcase to the rack at the back. All safe and sound.Took his spare helmet home and put his bike jacket in pannier too. Now, when do you need to be there?;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6129-re-fastest-route-to-heathrow-at-peak-hour/#findComment-196803 Share on other sites
ducaticatty
Wow, you tied a suitcase to the backrack? I'm impressed! >:D< I agree, motorcycles all the way!Failing that, I'd 185 it to Oval/Vauhall and then tube it all the way from there. Might be rather a bit busy at rush hour though. Sherwick
The fastest route is to take a black hole at the top of Lordship Lane and emerge at Heathrow Terminal 1 Arrivals. Now have driving down to an hour, but have to get an early start for that.Best so far is;"Go to camberwell green. get the 436 to paddington then the Heathrow express. It's the quickest. Thanks. :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6129-re-fastest-route-to-heathrow-at-peak-hour/#findComment-198440 Share on other sites
cathg
Just to stick my belated oar in, it depends how you get to camberwell - if i was on a 40 or 176 i'd stay on til elephant and get bakerloo line to paddington rather than risk a long wait for a 436 at camberwell. Likewise if i was on a 185 I'd stay on til victoria and get bus to paddington from there, or get the circle line from vic - paddington.
