It is fantastic but I forgot to say that it does not have a pool (it doesn't really need one). There is another more commercial site round the corner which does have a pool though.

Sherwick - just arrived at fouras today. Camping here following your recommendation.just had time to put up tent before torrential rain arrived. But seems lovely here. Staying independent campsite and will check out the oyster bay coastline tomoz. Looks good though despite todays weather so thanks for the recommendation. Mick..

Have to say I enjoyed this area very much a few years ago, never camped, but there were a number of sites en route and further down in the Vendee.

ST Jean has about five miles of beach.

Everytime I have been is late season and there has been a lot less tourist traffic.

Les Sable D'olonne is also great for this.

Also have gites in Brittany, but no pool as yet, next on the list though.

just back from domaine des ormes in brittany. went with eurocamp, but bucket loads of other operators and plenty of pitch sites as well. highly recommended site, 6 pools, out-door adventure park similar to go-ape, 18 hole golf course, paintball, 3-4 restaurants and several bars, pedalo/canoes, nice walks, and a small village with bars 10 mins walk away.

i did a few trips to st-malo/dinard/dinan/mont st.michael and a german war cemetary, but the missus and kids never left the site, no need to, everything was there.

I have been there JSW a few years ago - my sister and family were in mobile homes, we stayed in a chalet. Very nice.

Having just come back from camping in Dorset, I have decided I actually prefer camping in England - by camping I mean with tents - because in England you can have a campfire - and its just not camping without a campfire. Makes all the difference and most formal French campsites don't allow campfires (some don't even allow bbqs) so I feel its not quite the same tent experience without the fire and cooking outside the tent / late night chatting round the fire.

On that note I would recommend Riversidelakes in Horton Dorset, we were there at the weekend - good facilities great family run business and we were well looked after. Lovely area. pub nearby etc. Kids loved it.

    • I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to kindly ask for your assistance regarding a car break-in that occurred today, around 2 PM, on Carson Road. A couple of bags (both khaki in color), a luggage, and a passport were stolen. The bags, in particular, hold significant sentimental value to me, and I would greatly appreciate any help in locating them. I am due to take a long-haul flight in two days, and any information regarding the whereabouts of these items would be incredibly helpful. If anyone has seen or come across these belongings, please feel free to reach out. Thank you in advance for your attention and support. Warm regards, Tanya
