Barry - do you have a contact in Charge of forest hill station (is it London overground?)? Ever since the overground started running highbury and islington the platform indicators don't show the alternating 2nd and 3rd trains as high & I takes too many letters (ie uses both lines). Surely we could just abbreviate it to Highbury or similar so we can see the next trains?

I mentioned it to the station staff but the didn't seem very interested...

This irritates the hell out of me at Honor Oak Park too. Definitely not Barry's patch - it's managed by London Overground

I'm going to write to them now for HOP; suggest you do the same for FH.

Not seeing the 3 trains makes it harder to judge whether to get a Southern to LB or an Overground.

Dear Barry

Last Sunday, for Mother's Day, I arranged to catch a specific train from Victoria, & to be picked up from Haywards Heath on arrival. I knew the SLL was not running on that day, but that half-hourly trains to Victoria were calling at Peckham Rye, platform 3. Five minutes before it ws due I was informed by station staff that the 12.46 had been cancelled. This messed up all my train & pick-up connections. The substitute bus that replaces the SLL on these occasions is a joke. It takes abt 50 minutes to get to Victoria. PR Station staff told people who wanted to get to London Bridge that it wd be quicker to take a train to Lewisham & change there. My conclusion, sadly, is that there's no point trying to go anywhere by train on a Sunday.

Barry should be able to give you a more detailed explanation. In summary, they normally pay half fare using Oyster Pay as you Go on all National Rail services using their normal Zip Oyster.

On London Overground from Forest Hill and HOP, children travel free if they're under 10 and half fare if older.

Can I just say what a delight it was to arrive at London Bridge station this morning and find that the new ticket barriers are in place giving commuters a lot more space and extra terminals to exit the station. An end to the early morning scrum which used to ensue alighting from trains between 8-9am!

Barry if you are still reading this thread, could you ask your team to cut back the stinging nettles on the slope to Platform 2? Someone is going to get stung very soon as they are growing way over the path - tricky to negotiate your way around them when slope is packed with commuters.

Hi.At peak time the congestion to get down the bottleneck of the steps could be dangerous, I think. There's room to expand into the shrubbery (if that's ever dug up, look out for the Victorian bottle bank around there.)Could there be a slope instead? And how are wheelchair users suppose to get up? It's bad enough for pushchairs

Hi Barry

Are you still around and able to provide advice ?

There's a seperate thread discussing the perpetual irregularity of the service between ED and LB (obviously stations further out than ED are affected too but our angle us our immediate service).

It's called: "No trains East Dulwich to London 12-13/11/11

".

We find it increasingly difficult to understand how for several years the service has been withdrawn during weekends, not every weekend but so often as to render confidence in the service very low.

Do you know where and how we obtain definitive and evidenced answers on why the service has suffered so appallingly ?

Could you advise how we establish the prognosis for reliability of the same service going forward and whether a timetable / plan of works can be shared with us ?

Regards,

KK
