Hi Jeremy

Please see an extract from a communication today from the Network Rail Station Manager. I will also ask my Duty Managers to keep an eye on things during heavy downpours

Regards

Barry

They've recently spent over 100 hours cleaning out the acco drains across the station so this should have helped as they dug out a lot of silt etc. If you're still having problems let us know but it should be much better

Hi Chris

This issue is being addressed and a new upgrade for the software is due very shortly. I am also looking at the possibility of another Ticket Vending Machine

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know what that cleaning was done? It was terrible earlier this week.

Part of the problem is that the surface is very uneven, so large puddles form in the dips. And there aren't many drains on the platform.

Jeremy

Having spoke with the Network Rail Station Manager, I was reminded that there is a program of works to repair the platforms and unven surfaces, this is the next phase to get the water ingress/puddles etc sorted. These works are due to start very soon

I missed this one on the rpeort produced

Hi Ally

Once the refresh programme has finished I will look at extra seating, this will be at the end of July

Hi

I had a bet with one of my managers stating that someone would post about baskets by 6pm last night

I am surprised it took this long

I know its totally the fault of thoughtless passengers but the rubbish trapped behind the wire is terrible, might it be better if the wire were removed and more bins put in?

Hi, I am hoping you have not been to ED for a week or so. On the 3rd June I gave a commitment to have behind the fences cleared of rubbish once a week, this is now up and running. Last Saturday a furthe 4 bins were added at the station. The barbed wire problems and both approaches have been signed off and will be completed next week

Hi barry

Just found this thread and your doing a great job..well done!

I have a couple suggestions..would it be possible to run a service in-between the 06:12 and the 06:39 on weekdays?? I think there is a train that goes through the station inbetween but doesnt stop..maybe it could?...could you get your maintenance team to try and get the paint removed from the london bound ramp which some idot poured everywhere?

keep up the good work!

Anthony

Hi Anthony

I am very sorry but I am unable to help with additional services/timings etc, this is beyond my remit. However in saying that, Southern is currently looking at the new revised timetable that was implemented in May of this year and will be looking at customer feedback/issues when compiling the new timetable later this year. In the meantime I have forwarded your comments to the right deaprtment

I believe you are referring to East Dulwich? I am aware of the paint at the top of the ramp. My team have been unable to remove from the path, however the refresh and paint of the station is due to start in about 3 weeks. The company dealing with this have noted the problem and it is now on the program of works

Barry

HELP!

If you had a choice at East Dulwich which would you prefer?

LCD screens at ED station (train departures placed at entrance to platform 2) or Additional oyster readers on the platform

After feedback from the relevant departments both of these are very expensive to implement, my own opinion is the screen at the bottom so you dont walk all the way up. I will push for both however I am looking at quick fixes/win here

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
    • Sadly they don't do the full range of post office services
