The Bear is safe and will be presented to the 09 Barry Barry Run Champion Athlete. See attached for details if interested in this cultural event of the summer. All welcome. Last years winner said:

"I still remeber the pain from last year, but I couldn't devalue the competiton as Man U did the FA Cup, so I'll be there"

The bar has been raised again, and again, and again.........

Lasers set tae malky!

I realise people may get hung up on frivolous points like when it starts but I have a few serious queries I would like to put to the Chairman regarding the rules. Mr Chairman if I may ask;

If a contestant puts roller-skates on before the race but does so completely by accident, will they be disqualified? Even though they would be wearing performance enhancing shoes they would not be doing so with intent.

And what if during a tactical overtaking manoeuvre a contestant accidentally runs into the open doors of a No.12 bus and will roller-skates have any bearing on this?

I have it on good authority that HelpMaBoab is en route to God's country and unlikely to make it back online until Tuesday at soonest.

Start time for Barry Barry Run 1pm I believe.

To answer the other two questions Brendan, the only way 'roller-skates' are permitted is if you strap 2 No.12s to your feet. Likewise No.12s. Permitted only when strapped to feet.

Just back from a training camp in Ireland......training going well and last years time is going to be beaten, not by much but surely beaten.

Starting Bell is 1pm however there will be some warm up drills taking place prior to this to enure there are no pulled muscles or similar during the run - 12pm start time for these in the Plough....

Warm down takes place in the Clockhouse as per last year and Barrel Walking should hopefully again be a feature of the event in Bar Story for those still capable.

Hopefully all the info you require is now avaialable. In terms of what to wear, very much up to yourself. Vetran runners may be sporting Rasta Vests again.......

Hopefully see you at the start line at 1pm on 13th June. (12.45pm for registration and vetting of selected beverages to check for conformity)

Ramming speed..................

For those unable to take part due to ill heath, pregnancy, gammy knees or sick notes from Mother, support teams are required to provide water, sponges, first aid, cigarettes, brandy and rescue transport.

>>> this sound absolutely hilarious! I love the idea of 'help points' down Barry Road with supporters handing out crafy Marlboro Lights and shots of gin! Brilliant!

    • I'm reviving this thread in order to have a moan. Dive. Deep dive. I'm not sure why, but recently these words seem to be in everything I read,  especially online, and I am finding them REALLY ANNOYING. Why not just say, I'm finding out more about this, or,  now I am going to tell you much more about this? AAAARGH. (It's also annoying that the local swimming pool isn't deep enough to dive, but that's a totally different issue.)

    • What do you need a solicitor for? What advice do you/they need? Only the courts or the tenants can end a tenancy, the landlord can only require possession. If it is a section 21 that is a "no fault" eviction,  meaning the landlord simply wants their property back vacant. If it is a section 8 it means the landlord requires possession because of rent arrears or some other kind of breach of the tenancy agreement. If there is no notice then it is potentially an illegal eviction. TBH the council are probably likely to advise they stay put until the courts evict them, but that could result in them being allocated emergency accomodation - which could be outside of Southwark and possibly a hotel room or hostel.  As you will be very much aware council housing is rarer than hens teeth in inner London so I would advise this family not to pin thejr hopes on that, they would better off trying to find somewhere more stable to rent privately.
