Nero
The shop that was the sports shop, I think, near to the video shop, is to be a barber's. It has a poster in the window saying so. Wish it well (now that I have a tash that needs grooming!) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6082-new-barbers-on-ll/ Share on other sites
HonaloochieB
Thank Christ a shop where I won't have cause to spend a brass centime.Once more I give thanks and praise to the Gods of MPB. Brendan
I think he was confusing it with the pub where they put a blade to your neck. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6082-new-barbers-on-ll/#findComment-195284 Share on other sites
SimonM
Jazz's (the place about to open) advertises "wet shaves" - so a real, "something for the weekend sir?" barber's then! carolyn
My young man goes to the barber on Barry Road near the Clockhouse and he is always offered beer, tea or coffee whilst they trim his hair. Also he claims it is very reasonably priced. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6082-new-barbers-on-ll/#findComment-195371 Share on other sites

James
What a bizarre and antiquated idea - that men should need a different sort of hairdresser or fear compromising their delicate masculinity. What next - the return of separate withdrawing rooms for men and women? Why not go to a decent (unisex) hairdresser where they actually know how to style your hair to suit the shape of your face? Peckhamgatecrasher
Oh James, you obviously don't know the joy of withdrawing to gossip about the lads. It's very civilised and great fun. templeton
Beer is free if you are getting your hair cut, i don't think you can just rock up and have a few to pass the time. it's only cheap supermarket stuff, but better than nothing. *Bob*
I love drinking crap beer whilst I'm getting a crap haircut.Maybe the new place will offer a sh1t shave as well, so you can go out looking like your Dad when he was fifty, smelling of cheap alcohol and with a few bits of bloody bog roll stuck to your chin. That's proppa. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6082-new-barbers-on-ll/#findComment-195454 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
Hmmm...I could do with a little snip and I could do with a beer as well. I'd probably get the flavour and end up in the Clockhouse for the rest of the afternoon though. Ted Max
Anyone paying more than ?5.50 for a dry cut or ?11 for a wet cut 'n' style is only doing so to tell themselves they are better than the rest of us. All haircuts are exactly the same, you are only paying more for the sense of superiority. My uncle cut hair for years and he told me this so I know what I'm talking about. Jah Lush
Ha! I cut my own hair for about seven years and it cost me nothing but you're right a man doesn't need to go to a hairdressers and pay a fortune for getting pretty much what he'll get at barbers. Ted Max
In the local's republic of North Devon all haircuts are ?6, children are controlled, and the daffs grow free. Dez
The last time I went to a proper barbers it cost me 1/- (5p) and I haven't had a decent haircut since. Alas now I fear it may be too late. sophiesofa
You men are so lucky you get beer and don't expect to pay more than ?11 for a wet cut. Incrdible. I find going to the hairdressers hurrendous. Your hairdresser feels obliged to make small talk, you are plonked in front of a mirror so are forced to read womans own (my personal opinion, no disrespect to the magazine)or something equally unappealing and pay a fortune. I am very unprecious when it comes to my hair so quite often after a glass of wine reach for the scissor with mixed results but it grows eventually. I've tried those free training places before and once spent 2 hrs 45 mins having a trim and i left before it was properly finished because i was so bored and hungry. I'm jelous and now considering a sex change. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6082-new-barbers-on-ll/#findComment-195503 Share on other sites
