I ironing

Hi i was just seeing what reponce i will get im thinking of doing peoples ironing in my own home i dont drive so will have to drop of and pick up i will be charging ?1.00 per item and ?1.50 for larger item including bed linen not sure if thats the going rate would be nice to have some fed back from people thankyou

It will explain what you should be charging. Insurance (in case you damage any clothes.


Working for yourself or via agency who will get you work. Income tax.


If working for yourself you will need to register as self employed.

I pay by the hour rather than by the item and pay ?10 ph.


The lady who does mine has her own car and keys to my house and so she picks up and drops off too - I just text when I have some ready to collect and she lets me know when to expect it back.


I have to admit I am not sure I would find it quite so appealing if I had to arrange to drop off and collect myself, though I suppose it would depend if the ironer was usually home in the evening and lived quite close.
