I know what you mean!!! Also people complain about buildings popping up in any spare bit of land, but that happens there too!!! I was shocked last time I went down there with my dad (about4 or 5 years back), to find that the old park with the lake had been completely built over!!!

Still a lovely little village though.

Ahh memories of clambering up hay tor :))

Used to like Teignmouth too.

As for this weekend, I shall mostly be doing not a lot (tu)

    • Southwark website says they can investigate barking dogs.  If the noise is happening ‘now’ they say to call them on 020 7525 5777. I suggest you share the address with those locally affected, and then all call the number when you hear the dog barking. If there are enough complaints, the rapid noise team will attend (they can only really properly assess if the threshold is met if: they attend, hear recordings of the sound, or receive a high number of complaints).    you can also report online each time.    the rapid noise team can attend, and also warn the occupant as it is a ‘nuisance ‘ (barking for an hour each time on repeated occasions). you can also record the sound and send the links to the noise team, and also the neighbour (if you have their contact details).   Allowing prolonged barking is a nuisance, and saying that it is ‘caused by anxiety’, doesn’t mean that it is not also causing a noise nuisance. Hopefully this will stop the dog being left on its own for so long.
    • The papers are at https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=172&MId=8334.   I had thought of watching the thing myself online, but my diary secretary let me down.
    • Hard to believe there’s only one doctor ‘available’ each day.  I wonder what they are available for.  Actually seeing patients? Dealing with patient phone calls?  Signing prescriptions?   I do know that they often give over the phone calls to pharmacists, paramedics or nurse practioners.
    • If it weren't for those damn cyclists then you wouldn't have had to have your poor darlings fight tooth and nail against Beverly to get a seat on the 356. She's 84, yes, but she's spry and she'll gouge out an eye or two so she can get to the bingo on time.  Personally I say we round up everyone who owns even an ounce of licra and cut their heads off.
