Cool, I have spent quite a lot of time studying scale sequencing and permutation from Neoclassical rock/metal players like Rhodes Blackamoor and the master of it Malmstein, harmonic minor scales are very ethnic/eastern sounding and I spent a lot of time studying diminished arpeggios which I love the sound of. I have transposed some of Paganini's Caprices 16 and 24 which are my faves and moto perpetuo is another favorite of transposers. Open tunings are good like DADGAD etc which also have a bit of an ethnic/folk sound. I also dig some of the more uncommon modes such as Lydian But all this hijacking of threads is probably boring the pants off other posters and gets frowned upon so maybe leave it for another thread.

Not sure this is the right thread to post this link, but whatever. There are some real cuties here. Michael Stipe, Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder, Anthony Kiedis; such darling boys. Conversely, there are some that have been snacking at the ugly bar, whom only a mother could love.
