"Put your feet up (n the air)" with Marcus Veda & Rocket Club Yoga. - http://www.marcusvedayoga.com

Inversions and arm-balances are about approaching challenges in a new way and seeing things from a different perspective. Traditionally they are seen as 'advanced' postures not because they are so much harder to do but because they bring your concentration ('dharana') into much more focus, and so are considered suitable for the yogi who is taking their practice to the next level. But anyone can start practising these postures as long as they approach them with the right preparation and intention.

We are so used to standing upright without even thinking about it, but go upside down, and all our fears, instabilities and insecurities come out. So it?s just like learning how to stand again, till we don?t have to think about it anymore, either way up. As George Clinton (nearly) said, ?Still your mind and your ass will follow.? We will break down the simple to more advanced arm balances, inversions (headstand, handstand) and transitions in the Rocket sequence. Suitable for anyone who has been to a Rocket class and gets stuck somewhere- from frequent flyers to those who are new to getting upside down.

Rocket @Yogarise, Putting the jump in your rump since 2014.

    • All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy   also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party?    hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great
    • The good news is that the Blythe's new leaseholder is Austin Whelan, who runs a chain of very decent Irish pubs, mainly in south London. By all accounts, he has no intention of making any major changes. It reopened last week.
    • A builder said that to me once! What I should have said (but thought of it too late) was that given that I was paying him to do a job, I expected that my glass would be full, not half full 🤣 But yes, you are right in this instance!
    • Just had a flyer through the door. Posting here for people who haven't had theirs yet. The 50% off food is for three days only, and advance bookings only. I liked the EDT as it used to be, so I really hope the changes won't be too massive. Last time I looked through the window the bar seemed to be still in the same place, but who knows. Think I'll wait a bit to try the food. When The Lordship launched, we went for a meal there and let's say things didn't go smoothly 😂 Anybody who was there will know what I mean 😂 They have redeemed themselves since, I hasten to add 😂
