ArnieLoves
"Put your feet up (n the air)" with Marcus Veda & Rocket Club Yoga. - http://www.marcusvedayoga.comInversions and arm-balances are about approaching challenges in a new way and seeing things from a different perspective. Traditionally they are seen as 'advanced' postures not because they are so much harder to do but because they bring your concentration ('dharana') into much more focus, and so are considered suitable for the yogi who is taking their practice to the next level. But anyone can start practising these postures as long as they approach them with the right preparation and intention. We are so used to standing upright without even thinking about it, but go upside down, and all our fears, instabilities and insecurities come out. So it?s just like learning how to stand again, till we don?t have to think about it anymore, either way up. As George Clinton (nearly) said, ?Still your mind and your ass will follow.? We will break down the simple to more advanced arm balances, inversions (headstand, handstand) and transitions in the Rocket sequence. Suitable for anyone who has been to a Rocket class and gets stuck somewhere- from frequent flyers to those who are new to getting upside down.
