Not exactly a break in at Dulwich Hospital, given the empty site is not accessible from the hospital. Surprised it's taken travellers so long to try this - absolute disgrace how long it's been 'empty'. I seed-bombed* the site a few weeks ago, just to add some colour and life to the place. Even if they do start building the new school / health centre next year, it's been a shocking waste of space for far too long and a huge administrative bureaucratic b*lls-up.

Agree with that, unfortunately this is Southwarks way. They did a similar thing with the site of the demolished Elmington estate flats. Left acres of land empty for more than a decade.

I am told that one large white caravan and a white van did get onto the site and were there overnight, and that this morning one of the occupants could be seen emptying a bucket/bowl of liquid onto the ground beside it. However, as at 10.20 a.m. it seems that both vehicles have now moved, although it's not clear whether they are now on another part of the site, or whether they have left completely.

That "horrid little tree" was planted by the the children of goose green school and the friends of goose green. It is a living Xmas tree and had to be a young specimen, like any other tree planted, it shall grow!

The children are all very proud of it and look forward to the now annual Carol singing event round it in December.

Thats's lovely for the kids. People are allowed to find it horrid though, doesn't make them chail murderers.

Personally I have no idea where this tree is.

From memory the squatters were actually a bunch of middle class kids playing at being alternitive. Not sure there was any actual housing need involved.

  • 4 weeks later...

Sorry to go all Louisa/Foxy on yo ass but that squatter thread has made me miss the good ole days. I even yearned for Hugenuts to be back among us albeit for a fleeting moment ;-)

And some of the posters that are no longer with us, Moos, Crystalclear, Shambles, Bagpuss...all so sad ;-(

    • Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I posted on here and I just wanted to update the situation. I remain active and available for haircuts. I am a home-visit hairdresser based in SW London. It's been a long time since I posted on here and I just wanted to update the situation. I remain active and available for haircuts. Some of you know me already. I posted a while back so I just want to re-introduce myself. I have been working as a hairdresser for the past 20 years (I'm 50, I trained at Vidal Sassoon and had a salon of my own, Top To Toe in Morden Jan 2000-Dec 2004) but now I just do freelance cutting hair for clients in their homes. I am available to answer queries if anyone has any? My speciality is cutting - men, women and children. I do have colour expertise so can advise but I do not colour hair at home. Thank you. There may be members of the forum who remember me coming to their home to do their hair in the 1990s! I have used the forum for a long time, as well also the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) newsletters back in the day. I have many clients with babies - it's one of the many reasons that people choose a home hairdresser. I always allow an hour and a half just in case there are interruptions in the haircut so that we are under no pressure. Finally I always make a policy to mention to new clients that I am transgender woman. I transitioned in 2009 and have reached the point when I "look" perfectly acceptable (I think, There is a profile photo which is up-to-date) however I make a point of being open about my history. If you are OK with that then I would be happy to cut your hair at your earliest convenience. My practice is that you do not wash your hair before I see you and I bring all equipment and styling products with me. All you need is shampoo and conditioner. p.s. If you do look at my website, I happen to be an artist and my website reflects that rather than hairdressing. Victoria Cantons
    • That's amazing nobody was seriously hurt, but good, obviously!
    • Vladi, you are wrong. The single wheel tag axle is fitted at the rearmost, behind the twin wheel, driven axle. This is obvious from photos of the upturned vehicle.
