Children's arts & crafts.

Recommended Posts

If you're undecided about whether you should come along to a Creation Station session, take a look at this list of some of the valuable skills your child learns through art and crafts.

The confidence to cope with a blank piece of paper and fill it with something good (a great skill when faced with an English essay in years to come!).

The confidence to make mistakes and move on: 'that didn't work out, I'll start again'.

Finding solutions to problems - 'It doesn't look like a dog but if I give it big teeth and horns I can turn it into a monster'.

A way of explaining to themselves their place in the world, their relationship with their surroundings and the things that happen to them: 'This is me, this is my Mummy, this is my Daddy and this is my rabbit'.

Attention to detail: the beauty of nature and of colours, shades and textures - how many different greens are there in your garden?

Class details: Suitable for 1 1/2 - 5 years. ?8 per session

Mondays - Mission Bubble, Blackwater Court, Blackwater Street, SE22 (same courtyard as PUSH Dance Studios), 10:30 - 11:20

Thursdays - The Ivy House, Stuart Road, SE15, 10:30 - 11:20

Fridays - The Scout Hut, 212 Bellenden Road, SE15, 9:40 - 10:30

    • I'm guessing, with problems in Underhill and Horniman that it was an issue with the transformer/ sub station in Langton Rise.
    • Yes walsh's used to occupy white stuff and oliver bonas
    • I miss the Londis pick and mix!   Did Walsh's Glazing used to be where Oliver Bonas is now - did they have two shop frontage or was it further down?
    • If the road is residential with light traffic then it should be fine for children to cycle on, dependent on their age with or without adult supervision.   West Sussex offer family cycle training: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/road-safety/one-to-one-cycle-training/ Year six's should have also had the opportunity to have cycle training at scool: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/road-safety/cycle-safety-courses-for-schoolchildren/#level-2-term-time-course And they also offer holiday courses and advanced children's courses: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/road-safety/cycle-safety-courses-for-schoolchildren/bikeability-level-3-booking-form/ Finally the school should have a travel plan to reduce the reliance on being driven to school and increase active travel.
