GBK's been around longer than beardy hipsters, though, hasn't it? I must say (though I haven't been in a while) that I've never felt it's a smug, sneering place, just somewhere to get a filling, tasty burger and chips. I'm not averse to MacDonald's but they are just so unfilling, 10 minutes after you've finished you're hungry again, which I find a whole lot more annoying than some free nuts.

Neither Meatliquor nor Honest Burger give free nuts. Has the thread moved on from nuts?

Kinda. KeekySnorky sort of broadened the discussion to the wider hipster "dirty" burger thing. Then someone said that GBK predates that. I was pointing out that...

oh who cares...

600 million indians have no regular access to bogs, 75% of them poo randomly in the open outside the cities- this is the point i was making regaridng eating wiv yer hands. I havent eaten meat since University, so its a sorta non issue for me, just the rest of the bearded yo ho ho matey mugs who pay ?25 a go to hanker down in SE15 arches yurts to eat raw liver burgers delivered on a sheet of flaky asbestos tiling and drink tepid thames water out of a chipped robinsons jam jar with the golliwog label still attached

It seems a bit sacrilegious to go to Hawksmoor and not get a steak but I would like to try one of their burgers.

KB - Well luckily we DO have access to toilets and washing facilities, so eating with your hands is perfectly safe. I'm sure they could rustle up some kind of bland veggie alternative for you.

phobic - as much as I love a good steak, they do a very good burger for ?15 (or a French dip sandwich for around a tenner I think). I can't always drop ?60+ a head on dinner...

its all toss

a cafe selling only cereal, hand food only, a gaff specialising in crisp sandwiches- these people seem to rejoice in removing the past several hundred years of social and economic development and reducing everything they do to the level of a emotially repressed child - primary colour fixies with no brakes or gears , not wearing socks with shoes, eating with yer hands, shops specialising only cup cakes, rod jane and freddie coloured dungarees, pink timmy mallet bloody glasses...what the fuck are these poltroons trying to say

what next - sunshine orange & rusk cafes, fixies with stabilisers, giant tommee tippe cups instead of pint glasses, adult nappie cafes, ruberised pelican bibs in the lastest pop up raw meat emporium ?

Full agreement with everything except 'tasty'. What should be the core of GBK is instead... abomination. I do so miss Meatwagon...

    • Earlier tonight, around 10pm (Monday 22 April), I saw a bright, small fireball come straight down from the sky and seemingly land in the near distance. I’d estimate it landed somewhere around Beauval Road/Lordship Lane/Goodrich/Landcroft Rd or thereabouts.  Googling meteorites I also discovered tonight was due to be the height of the Lyrid meteor shower over UK. Did anyone else see anything/capture it on door cams/ dash cams? Or better still find the meterorite?!
