The use of adjectives as adverbs

Eg quick, or fast. Relative terms.

Now we are saying "John moves more quickly" "This is happening more slowly"

When it should be "John is faster" and "this is happening slower"

Or my favourite - the economy is growing less quickly than expected shd be the economy is growing slower than expected.

Radio advert for a BMW sport model of some sort - Says something along the lines of "what's worse than constantly being stuck in traffic? You could be stuck in traffic in the wrong car". What are they getting at? You need a sports car so that you can feel superior in some way when sat in traffic?

Annoying but preferable to the Californian-inspired stoner-delivered "whoah!" (as in "whoah dude!"). If you are ever over-enthusiastically and needlessly "wowed" (or "whoahed") I believe the correct response is "yeah, waw"*

*what a w-anchor

I like that song, and it's been stuck in my head for the last week, so much so that I keep finding myself singing it, and must look like a demented cat impersonater to passers by.

But no, I mean specifically when you'll write something, and someone's response is

Wow... Just Wow

As in they're amazed at how stupid you are.

Seren isn't made up; it's a Welsh name meaning star.

So that's one less thing to feel enraged about.

    • No they were created by a Hong Kong artist and became a craze when a K-Pop girl band became associated with them. They do limited editions and they've become a collectors item (Like Jelicat for adults)- I'm a bit ashamed that at 65 years old I know so much about them but they are very much a fashionable item. And I'm always interested in Popular Culture. Whover lost it must be gutted because I understand that when you buy one (they're boxed) you never know which one or what colour you'll get...so if the owner loved that one it may be very difficult to replace.
    • Are they a hybrid of teletubby and some other species?
    • Thats a Labubu. I suspect it was lost by a trend-following adult who had it hanging from their handbag. They're a real fashion trend at the moment and people collect them. I hate them they give me the creeps!
