Mmmmmmmmm....That's a very good question Xena. As I said, I liked it but from what I saw they made a few errors. Was the culprit red John (the smiley face killer) because at the end when he's confronted by 'the mentalist' he mentions the note the red john character left on the door of the mentalists daughters bedroom. If he was the person who murdered your entire family you'd go postal not just shrug it off. They also seem to be attempting to achieve a bit of a C.S.I feel to the team.

I watched it with my son - he now thinks I'm psychic 'cos I was predicting what was gonna happen - ha ha.

Quite liked it as a mild diversion.

BBW - no, the nutty doctor was not red john, that one will run and run methinks. He was referring to the letter under the door at the hotel.

Although thinking about it - what was the motive for the doctor bludgeoning them to death? I've forgotten.

Finally worked out the problem

It is a problem with the signal provided by C5 / Five US as they seem to think that they are both showing the same series at the same time so the series linking facility identifies both episodes as being linked even though one is a repeat of the other.

Have to catch up on last nights episode (so don't spoil it) as the steam is building up on the PVR now !!

I like the Mentalist. A lot of it is - as Derren Brown has said before himself - a life time of just observing people's reactions, working out what they say and learn body language and so on. The Series of course has a glossy American thing going on, but the point still stands, and I like it a lot. Specially like it because it is absolutely not the psychic thing happening. Because that's bollox innit.

    • I would suggest ED, particularly the top ends of Upland and Friern Road, where the two roads meet. It's a no through road so basically makes it semi-private with no through traffic other than cyclists. The gardens are larger than your typical ED gardens, you are 1 minute to Peckham Rye park which is a great outside space with 2 great playgrounds and a decent coffee shop, plus the frequent busses up/down Rye Lane (12,197, 63 and 363) can get you to Peckham station in less than 10mins. On top of that you are only 5-7mins walk from Lordship Lane and all that has to offer, plus can easily get to Peckham for its fantastic restaurants (the best in South London) and bars.  You can get to the Dulwich schools driving or on the P13 bus at the end of the road. Or if it's nice weather, walk/bus up Barry Road and then a quick stroll through Dulwich Park.  You probably wouldn't need to pay your top budget either! But could do if you got one of the villas on Rye Lane itself.

    • I haven't been swimming at Dulwich Leisure for years, and since they reopened including a new website, it seems impossible to book a swim. Has anyone cracked it? I'm not a gym member there, so you'd think their swim timetable was fully viewable, but it isn't. You sort of have to make a guess about exactly which day, time and type of swim, (e.g forcing you to decide whether to click on medium lane 45 or slow lane 60 - madness) before you've even found out if there's any slots generally? And then if you do see a S'pace Available', by the time you click forward, it then always says 'Fully Booked'. No joke, I've been trying and failing for weeks. If you email Southwark Leisure they don't reply. If you call Dulwich Leisure Centre there's no human to answer the phone (and it says voicemail is full). What the --? Do Southwark want us to be healthy or not? Seems madness to me that we live on Crystal Palace Road yet we have to go to Forest Hill Pools to swim. If anyone's cracked it please do shout
