Hello

Jelly Belly Pilates and Training currently run outdoor exercise classes for mums and babies in Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye. We know how tricky it can be when baby gets older and wants out the pram but can't be trusted to stay where mum can see them! Sometimes that is when the good intentions are defeated by the practicalities of having a toddler.

Is there any interest in having an exercise class in an enclosed area where mums can keep an eye on their little explorers while participating in a circuit style exercise class? We are looking at the picnic area on Peckham Rye which is fenced in and we would provide bats and balls and other equipment to keep the kids entertained or they can join mum in the exercises!

Classes would most likely be on a Tuesday morning after the school drop off is finished. We would really appreciate your input if you are a local mum and are looking for an exercise option that you can bring your toddler along to. Please feel free to PM me or reply to this message.

Many thanks,

Zoe

Yes definitely! I have been thinking to come to one of your classes as I used to do powerprammibg when my first one was under 1. But with a toddler and a a newborn I think I'd find it tricky to keep my toddler happy in the pram.

Would definitely be easier if he could run around!

Not to hijack this thread, but I found that you can run/cycle with 2 if you get a double bike trailer/buggy thing. I found it a good way to get in shape and we also went further afield for groups as well.

this one had a hammock for babies, so you can use it from quite young.

If there had beed a class like this then I would have done that too!

    • There was something to do a with a gate in the Brockwell case, I can't recall the detail, but the council removed a gate, which had been gifted in trust to the park, so the festival builders could allow access, or something. And that was illegal and that's what enabled Rylance et al to litigate.
    • How long is the Gala, and potential new event, disruption….this could be key from the article on the High Court challenge against Lambeth…   Under permitted development rules, a temporary change of use is allowed for a total of 28 days each calendar year, but the Brockwell Park festivals run over 37 days and were due to begin on 23 May.
    • Try the castle upstairs, you'd need to buy a few drinks in return.  @Suecan you advise?  It will be in use some Mondays no doubt
    • Yes, I was bemused to see that notice in Barry Road. It seemed a strange place to be having a drop off point.
