Babysitting going rate?

Hi, just wondering what the going rate for trusted babysitters for babysitting in the area is. Im wondering about daytime when the might need to care for and entertain the little one and evening when they are hopefully asleep, guessing daytime is a little bit more than evening?

I've had a few offers from people and I'm just trying to gauge what sounds like the right rate to pay.

Hi,

The day time rate is usually less even though they actually have to do a lot more. I have paid ?8/hr during the day and then it's increased to ?10/hr in the evening.

Complete opposite to the previous poster. I always pay more for daytime (?10 per hour pretty standard). Evening we pay ?8-10 if using a qualified child carer, but tend to use a local teenager and pay ?6.50ish - but only if the children are all in bed and asleep.
