Looking for after school swim now Friday rafts and rascals is gone

Hi Forum. I've just discovered that the Friday evening rafts and rascals session at The East Dulwich pool has been removed. It was a great session as the 6pm -7pm is just a bit too late for my five year old. I think it is a real shame, but Imsuppise they have their reasons.

However I still want to take my daughter swimming at least once a week after school (we are usually out and about at the weekends.) does anyone know any good after school sessions? I can't find any as, quite reasonably, the pools are booked out with swim school.

It always frustrated me that so few after school open sessions are available - I did write to fusion once about the bridge leisure centre small pool and they changed their timetable to put back a suitable cession, but swim school is obviously lucrative as now takes up every available slot

Spa at Beckenham and pavilion Bromley websites aren't working properly

Dulwich college sports club is ?57 PCM for a family and has two evenings where access to the pool is from 17.45

But I think it would be worth lobbying for dulwich pool to reinstate at least one after school session for fsmily swimming

Crystal Palace has public swim sessions in the teaching/training pools most afternoons. We go there for swimming lessons on Sundays, it's a great (and underused) facility. 10 mins drive, or a quick ride on the 363 bus.

Thanks everyone. Looks like it's Crystal Palace it Pickle, though it's a bit shallow. Lobbying them for at least one after school session is a good idea Fuschia. I've already emailed them to ask.

Also copy local councillor/find out who manages the fusion contract for southwark/ contact local

Apparently it was cancelled as it didn't get the numbers but when we went a couple of weeks ago we got the last two bands?! And it will only get busier with warmer weather.....very frustrating.

It was quietish-- but it was only half the pool. Never empty.

I believe the fusion pool in camberwell is open for general swim/no lessons on a Friday.

I'm going to send an email. However I think a group email from a group of people might have more force. Please reply on this thread and PM me if you want to be included. I will write it and share it before sending, and also agree who to cc in.

I may be being naive, but I'm sure that if we do demonstrate to them that the session has support, then they will have a good incentive to put it back on, and probably will.
